The short versionWhatVPN is editorially independent. Every provider is scored by the same published method, and none can pay for a higher ranking.

WhatVPN rates providers on evidence, not relationships. No provider owns or operates this site, and no provider can buy a position or a score. Rankings come from the fixed, public rubric on our methodology page, applied identically to every VPN. We never suppress a provider's weaknesses or hide a rival's strengths.   • A provider without verifiable test and audit data is shown but held out of the scored ranking — never given a flattering placeholder.
